The Hall of Fame Awards Banquet & Ceremony was held Jan 9th -

We would like to congratulate the four recipients of
the 2009 Athletic Hall of Fame. They were:

Becky Barnes (Class of 2000) was a four year Varsity Letter, team captain two years, SVC winner, MVP in cross country. For track, she received Varsity Letters four years, MVP, holds school records in the 800m open, 4x400m 4x800m and state qualifier in the 4x400m & 4x800m and conference meet record twice in the 4x800m. At Wittenberg University , she was MVP, team captain and Academic All-American in 2002 & 2003.

Kelsey Schleich-Blackburn (Class of 2002) was a four year Varsity Letter, member of the 1st Team All-SVC her junior and senior years, and MVP her senior year in basketball. In addition to her outstanding performance in basketball, she was on the volleyball team all four years and received the Varsity Letter her sophomore, junior and senior years and member of the 1st Team All-SVC her junior and senior years. She received the All-SVC Scholar Athlete three times.

Melissa Azbell-Rosales (Class of 1982) was received Varsity Letters all four years and her senior year was 1st Team All-SVC, All-Conference, Herald Award Winner/1st Girls Award Winner, 2nd Team All-Central District and Honorable Mention All-Ohio her senior year in basketball. At Heidelberg University , she received the NCAA Coaches Div. III Player of the Week (Feb 19, 1983).

Paul B Hoskins taught and coached (basketball, baseball & track) at Jackson Township from 1958-63. In 1964, he began teaching and coaching (basketball and baseball) at Westfall High School from 1964 to 1972. He led the Mustang baseball team to 6 of 8 SVC Championships and District Runner-up two years. He was named SVC Coach of the Year 5 times. He was also Westfall Athletic Director from 1968-1972.

Thanks to Scott Keller (teacher/coach) for introducing the past and new inductees and Allen Koker (Athletic Director) for presenting the awards.

HELP - Westfall Elementary School is looking for a list of all ALUMNI THAT ARE SERVING IN THE ARMED FORCES. Contact Ginger Hosler Beard at the elementary school with that information, and she will get the names to the appropriate person.
